Oh, it's that time of year again...I'm sick. Which sucks because I'm forced to go to work because I don't have the PTO saved up yet. Then work tells you not to come in if you are sick...but yet they don't want you to go negative PTO. It's a wicked circle. But I was able to take an early out one day and get to the doctor. I of coarse have a upper respiratory infection/bronchitis. I think I caught it early this time around. I am sick, but not like I usually get. In the past I normally wait until I'm almost dead and my husband is pleading with me, before I head to the doctor. I think this time around I am a little more paranoid because of all of the H1N1 junk going around, to take better care of myself. I am even getting a flu shot next week.
Kurt is sick too, and so is Maysun. She bounced back quicker than us old fogies. Kurt and I both feel like road kill. I am making sure to get to bed early (thanks to the good people at NyQuil) and getting lots of restful sleep...aka...Nyquil induced Coma! Which means that I had to miss seeing my favorite band this past Tuesday night. ~Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers~ ( www.azpeacemakers.com ) It was the first time in FIVE years that they played in Appleton, and I chose to stay home and die. So I am now trying to convince Kurt to go to see them play in Madison tomorrow night. He doesn't mind the band, but I can tell he would rather be doing other things with his Saturday night. Well, hopefully I get my way :)!!! he he.
In other Rosenthal-Mayer family news, we finally got our new (to us) vehicle!!! (YAY!) We got a 2008 Toyota Highlander. It's only got 11,000 miles on it, it's burgundy and it's got the super nice 3rd row of seats that fold down!!! I LOVE it. We had been test driving since April/May. We did our homework and shopped around A LOT! (Not kidding when I say that we must have test driven 16+ highlanders!) We finally settled on one down by Milwaukee from a somewhat private seller. We picked it up the end of August. It still takes some getting used to. (like I forget to turn on the headlights, or cannot remember which way you have to move the lever to make the wipers turn on, etc...) We were able to sell my old Bonneville. It now belongs to one of Kurt's friends. So we still get to hear about her temperament and issues. (that's the bad thing about selling to a friend!) I just hope she's in good hands. She was a good car and I do miss her. (sniffle...sniffle) But, I like the Highlander better!!! (we're still in the 'honeymoon' stage of ownership) Though my first payment was taken out of our checking today...

Oh the places you'll go...
I know, long time...NO BLOG! I've been so busy and not having the Internet at home doesn't help either. Nothing really too new, but yet things are constantly changing. I started a new job in May and am really enjoying it. I now work for Alta Resources in Neenah for the Customer Inbound SC Johnson team. I answer calls from consumers that have issues with their products, want to call and rave about how much they love them, or have questions about usage. It's really interesting and I get to talk to some really nice people, and once in a while a not so nice person. But it's fun to find resolutions for their problems and talk about great products. (I'm the dork that loves cleaning products and office supplies :) The hours aren't too bad either. M-F I work 8-4:30 3 days a week and then 9:30-6 the other two days. Sometimes there is a 8:30-5 day too.
I really like my new job, but do miss being home. Kurt and I agree that if we could swing it, that I would be a house wife. I proved my talents well beyond expectations during my 7 month stretch as Boozer's stay at home mommy. BUT, we cannot afford for me to continue to stay at home, so at the very least I'm happy to have found a job that I like.
Maysun is enjoying her summer. She is being passed along during the week between Aunt Amy's and the two grandma's. Hard to believe that school starts in 4 1/2 weeks. YUCK! She is not very pleasant in the morning, and hates her 7:30 bedtime. I hate having to put her to bed that early, but she is one of those kids that needs 10+ hours of sleep to function well.
We spent last week at our friends cottage in Lakewood WI for our annual week of summer vacation. We brought our niece Morgan along with us this year. I'm so glad that she was able to come along and be a part of our little family for the week. Though we had a week of fun and relaxation, we stumbled along w/ a few snags. First of all, the day we were to leave I woke up w/ a lot of pain in my right shoulder and neck. (I didn't have much range of motion for my head) So I spent the first half of my vacation in a considerable amount of pain, but who needs to turn their head. Then Kurt went to take his step-father fishing, couldn't get the boat to start. Hmmm..so they started rowing it to the boat landing when a good Samaritan stopped and towed them there. I met them w/ the truck and trailer and we took it to Powers in Townsend. Turned out to be a solenoid, replaced that. Later that day, the winch wouldn't go back into the quad. Took that to Lakewood Motorsports, solenoid. I went to the Doctor for my neck, where I learned from the physician's assistant that the muscles in my neck where "pissed off" (seriously, that's what he told me) which means that I got put on muscle relaxers that rendered me unconscious for 12 hours at a crack. On the plus side though, it meant that Kurt had to give me massages. Twist my arm! So later in the week, I took the girls to the Lakewood Zoo and then for ice cream. On the way home, the truck started running funny and the service engine light came on because obviously we hadn't spent enough money on our toys throughout the week. Kurt took it to Wilson's Repair in Mountain. They hooked up the truck to the scanner, which promptly read that we had a TRANSMISSION issue!!! Holy crap, that's an expensive issue. SO, we had our friends tow the boat home and follow us when we left on Sunday. Made it home safely, and got the truck to Ray's Transmission in Neenah. We have a friend/old neighbor that works there. He ran the scanner on the truck again and what do you know...he thinks it's a solenoid. What are the freak'n chances? We had that fixed last night and flushed... so hopefully that is all it is.
Boozer is doing good as well. She went to the vet a few weeks ago and they said that she is over weight at 32 lbs. So we have cut back the amount of food that we are giving her and trying to get her some more exercise. She is extra super snugly lately and still a joy to be around. You'd think she was my child.
Kurt has switched machines at work. He seems to be enjoying it more than the last one that he was on. He liked the last machine and his operator, but he was constantly in motion piling off these boxes and he would come home w/ the worst back aches.
We are working on getting a new (to us) vehicle. So hopefully our little Bonneville will be replaced in the coming weeks. We also had our house painted a few weeks back. It's the same color, but looks so much better. It needs touch up in a few places, but we are over all pleased. Time to get some bushes!!!
Nothing else new to report...I'll try to update this a little more often and I'll post some updated pictures soon!!!

Where to begin...
I've become such a slacker when it comes to blogging. So much has happened in the past few months...here's a quick update.
Wedding, unemployment, (which is fantastic by the way...but I'll be actively looking soon. The company I was working for, was purchased the week of the wedding and we were all let go shortly there after. ) Katy & Jon's wedding, girls trip to Lakewood, Halloween, (Maysun was a flower girl and Boozer was a bumble bee...again) school bake sale during election, weight gain, Burt (my dad) turns 60, Thanksgiving at our house, (...we had ham, Kurt was not impressed w/ the menu selection...he can cook next year) holiday baking with my best friend Angie, holiday programs, crappy cold/bronchitis, (which i STILL have, two weeks and counting) Christmas at our house, New years in Lakewood at the 'Ski Hill', and turning 30!!! Whew!!!!
And now.... here comes ARUBA!!! We leave for our honeymoon in 6 frick'n days!!! We are so excited to be leaving this crappy cold winter for almost a week!!! We fly out of Green Bay early Sunday morning. So Kurt and I are back to doing weight watchers hoping to lose a few pounds this week before we leave. And I'll be packing my tail end off too this week. Soooo much to remember to do. Not only do I need to prepare for us to leave the country... I need to pack and prepare Maysun to go and stay at Grandma Joan and Pupa Phil's and for Boozer to go and stay with Uncle's Scotty and Pud. I'm not complaining...I'm just hoping I don't forget important things.
So if anybody has any ideas of thins to take when leaving the country...please feel free to give me a shout. (besides sunscreen!)

Our Wedding...
It's hard to believe that it has come and gone already. We have been married for two and a half weeks and I have yet had time to update my blog. So here's the skinny...everything went perfectly! Our day was so beautiful and amazing. The church was a little on the warm side, but once we got outside for pictures it was gorgeous!!! The rain that was predicted never came and we got some amazing pictures at Riverside park. You will have to check out my photographers blog to get a sneak peak at the professional pictures. To everything there is a season...
As the wedding draws near, people keep asking me if I am nervous. And to tell the truth I was starting to get nervous in the following departments; what if I don't get all my stuff done on time & oh crap I have to stand up in front of 100 people and hope I don't pass out. I think this is all very common as far as wedding jitters go.
BUT...since god has this way of messing with me, I was ill prepared for the blow that struck me last week Monday. I had taken the day off to get some stuff done. (this was the Monday after my Bachelorette party) OK, so my boss's call me at home on my day off and drop the bomb...we are being purchased! (mind you, I've already been through one buy out!) We are being purchased by one of our competitors and they cannot guarantee that I'll have a job once this happens. OH... did I mention that this "purchase" is happening the weekend of my wedding??? LOVELY! So, as of right now, I don't know if I'll have a job to come back to. And, I'm for sure loosing my company vehicle!
So, I apologize for not blogging lately...I've got a lot on my plate. Let me tell you... this doesn't make the stress of the final weeks of wedding planning look like much! God's always throwing curve balls. Thank god I'm so prepared. (I know you all secretly laughed at me when I was doing all this misc. wedding stuff months ago. You all thought I was nuts for doing it all so early. well... I'm glad I'm crazy anal, cause it's helping to save my sanity now!!!) Go Katie!
Ok, Happy thoughts..... (sorry, I've gotten a little frazzled this past week :)

Back to School...
"OH...back to school, back to school, to prove to dad that I'm not a fool. Got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight. I hope I don't get in a fight. Ohhhh... back to school, back to school, back to school. Well... here goes nothing!"
Ok, I'm sure most of you know... I live in my own little fantasy world. And Maysun isn't going back to school to earn our families hotel chain. BUT... she did start the second grade on Tuesday. She is excited to be back in school. She has Mr. Van Dueser as a teacher this year and seems to like him so far.
